{soups-salads-and-salad-dressings} Cauliflower and Bacon Salad

 

Cauliflower and Bacon Salad
from the  1978 issue of Here's  whats   cooking
 
Place in layers in a large bowl:
 
1 head of lettuce broken in  bite  size  pieces
1 head of cauliflower broken into  bite size pieces
1/2  pound  bacon  fried and broken
1 onion diced  ( we like red)
 
Cover with a dressing of:
 
1/4  c  sugar  ( I have used 6 packets of equal with great success)
1/2 c  parmesan cheese
2 cups  mayonnaise  (I like  Hellman's)
 
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours  preferably  over night
 
Toss well before  serving
