Classic French Dressing Recipe



Making salad dressings at home is very easy! This recipe has many pantry staples so it is easy to whip up any time. It tastes wonderful on any greens.—Maron Craig Bielovitz, Elmhurst, Pennsylvania

Ingredients

    * 1/2 cup ketchup
    * 1/3 cup sugar
    * 1/4 cup white vinegar
    * 1 small onion, minced
    * 1 garlic clove, minced
    * 1 tablespoon paprika
    * 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
    * 1/2 cup vegetable oil


Directions

    * In a blender or food processor, combine the first seven ingredients; cover and process until blended. While processing, gradually add the oil in a steady stream. Process until thickened. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 1-2/3 cups.


Nutrition Facts: 1 serving (2 tablespoons) equals 100 calories, 8 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 186 mg sodium, 8 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, trace protein.
