Turnip Green Soup

"Southern Grace"

1 lb. country ham, cubed
2 cups chicken broth
2 medium red potates, cubed
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 (15-oz.) cans navy beans
2 (10-oz.) pkgs. frozen chopped turnip greens
1 T. sugar
Salt to taste
Garlic powder to taste

Place the ham, chicken broth, potatoes, onion, carrots and celery in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in the navy beans, turnip greens, sugar and pepper. Season with salt and garlic powder. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer for 1 hour.
Yield: 10 servings
