{soups-salads-and-salad-dressings} CLASSIC CHICKEN SOUP



Sometimes you just need the classics, just like mom made! This chicken soup recipe will do the trick for whatever you've got, and it will be so delicious that you won't even need to dig out a container for leftovers. Serve it up with a sprinkle of cheese or a plateful of crackers.

  • Cook Time: 6 hours
  • Total Time: 6 hours 15 mins.


1½ lbChicken Breasts, boneless and skinless
2 cupPasta, uncooked
5Carrots, peeled and chopped
1Yellow Onion, chopped
4 stalksCelery, chopped
4 clovesGarlic, minced
3 tspExtra Virgin Olive Oil
6 cupChicken Broth
1 cupWater
¾ tspDried Thyme
½ tspDried Rosemary, crushed
¼ cupChopped Fresh Parsley
1 TbspFresh Lemon Juice
Salt & Pepper


Add the chicken, onion, carrots, celery and garlic to the crockpot. Drizzle with oil and pour in the chicken broth and water. Add the thyme and rosemary and season well. Mix everything well and cook on low for 6 hours. Remove the chicken and chop it into small pieces. Add pasta to the crockpot and cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Pour in the lemon juice and replace the chicken. Mix everything to combine and serve.
