So sorry for you difficulties.

The biggest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance;
It is the illusion of knowledge

Well, more bad news.  Those of you who don't care, stop reading here……………

I saw my regular doctor yesterday and he said another epidural probably wouldn't help me, so he referred me to a surgeon.  Well, that surgeon called me this morning (his nurse did) saying they didn't take patients who had already had any back surgeries.  SO, my doctor is sending me BACK to the pain management guy to give me yet another epidural, but not in the same place.  Previously, they had been treating the L-3 vertebrae.  The shot he is prescribing for me this time is between the L-5 and the S-1.  That is supposed to help with the extreme pain I've had in my upper buttocks since the last shot.  You can bet I'll be taking plenty of Vicodin this time and taking my walker along.  The last time, on the way home, I could barely make it to the ladies room half way home, the pain was so intense.  My appointment isn't until the 18th.  We'll see how it goes in the meantime.  I sure miss being able to drive myself somewhere……………….Lack of independence really bites the big one!  See you tomorrow.

Do you need a quick and easy side dish for dinner tonight? This simple Dilled Potato Salad is perfect for a fast weeknight meal, a lazy summer picnic, or anything in between!

Makes: 4 servings

INGREDIENTS

3 medium potatoes

1 Tablespoon salt

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper

2 teaspoons dried dill weed

4 slices bacon, cooked crisp

INSTRUCTIONS

Scrub, peel, and cut potatoes into bite-size pieces.

Place potatoes and 1 Tablespoon of salt in a large pot. Cover potatoes with cold water, cover, and heat on high until water boils.

When water is boiling, reduce heat and boil until potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes.

Remove potatoes from water and place in a large bowl.

While the potatoes are still warm, add mayonnaise, ½ teaspoon salt, seasoned pepper, and dill. Mix well to combine.

Crumble bacon and add to potato salad, toss to mix.

Serve immediately as a hot potato salad, or cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until chilled.

Store leftovers in an air-tight container.
