Well, more bad news. Those of you who don’t care, stop reading here……………
I saw my regular doctor yesterday and he said another epidural probably wouldn’t help me, so he referred me to a surgeon. Well, that surgeon called me this morning (his nurse did) saying they didn’t take patients who had already had any back surgeries. SO, my doctor is sending me BACK to the pain management guy to give me yet another epidural, but not in the same place. Previously, they had been treating the L-3 vertebrae. The shot he is prescribing for me this time is between the L-5 and the S-1. That is supposed to help with the extreme pain I’ve had in my upper buttocks since the last shot. You can bet I’ll be taking plenty of Vicodin this time and taking my walker along. The last time, on the way home, I could barely make it to the ladies room half way home, the pain was so intense. My appointment isn’t until the 18th. We’ll see how it goes in the meantime. I sure miss being able to drive myself somewhere……………….Lack of independence really bites the big one! See you tomorrow.
