Summer Buffet Salad
3/4 C. sugar
1/3 C. white vinegar
2 T. chopped onion
1 1/2 t. dry mustard
1 t. salt
1 C. salad oil
Romaine lettuce chilled
4 fresh pears
2 fresh plums quartered
2 C. fresh blueberries
1 nectarine sliced
Prepare dressing by combining sugar, vinegar, onion, mustard and salt in blender. Whirl until smooth gradually adding oil. Chill. At serving time line large plate with lettuce. Pare, halve and core pears; place cored sides down in spoke arrangement on lettuce alternating necks out, necks in. Spoon some dressing over pears to prevent browning. Place plums between pears, skin up. Group blueberries at edge of plate; center with nectarines.
