Ground beef sold at major retailers Sam’s Club, Target, Aldi and more is being recalled because of an E. coli outbreak, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The recall was issued on September 19 by Cargill Meat Solutions, a Fort Morgan, Colorado-based processor. The recall involves more than 132,000 pounds of ground beef sold at some of America’s most popular stores.

“The products subject to recall bear establishment number ‘EST. 86R’ inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide,” the USDA says in a news release.
The USDA released this list of major retailers where the meat may have been sold:

The USDA is concerned that many people have the recalled meat products in their freezer. If you do have ground beef you’ve bought recently, please check it against the establishment number listed above.
“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the USDA says. “These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
Consumers with questions are encouraged to use the FSIS’s virtual representative “Ask Karen” feature at AskKaren.gov. People can also call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
