HAMBURGER HARVEST SOUP

1 pound ground beef
1/2 onion -- chopped
2 (10.5 oz.) cans beef consomme
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes -- or 1 (12 oz.) cn diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups fresh corn -- or 1 (12 oz.) can diced tomatoes
2 carrots -- peeled and sliced
4 potatoes -- peeled and diced
1 teaspoon taco seasoning mix
salt and pepper -- to taste
1 cup grated mozzarella -- or parmesan cheese (for topping)
1. Brown ground beef and onion.
2. In a large saucepan combine all ingredients except cheese.
3. Cook uncovered until vegetables are tender.
4. Add grated cheese to individual servings.
