New Hampshire Maple-Mustard Salad Dressing
"New Hampshire folk feel almost as strongly about their maple syrup as they do about their 'first in the nation' presidential primary. The people here like this dressing, which I toss with bagged, washed salad greens just before serving."
Can add some Chinese 5-Spice seasoning as recommended.
1/3 cup maple syrup | 1 tablespoon canola oil |
2 tablespoons finely chopped shallots | 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
3 tablespoons whole-grain Dijon mustard | 1/8 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar |
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk.
